Mother's Day Weekend at Home

Aaron came up to Stockton to visit me last week (and to watch Rich Harden pitch for the Stockton Ports as a rehab assignment from the Oakland A's), so we took the train back to Bakersfield together and played card games.

Mom and Dave (husband, not brother, for those of you who know me well enough to be confused :) frequently have to share this holiday, so we went with an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins...YUM!

Here's my Mom wearing the necklace and earrings Dave and I got her for Mother's Day. I think she looks great!

We were playing a fun family game Apples to Apples when Elijah found my husband's hat and sunglasses and decided to put them on. The hat actually matched his little outfit! TOO CUTE!

And here's the look on his face that lets you know he belongs to his dad...hahaha!

I love this one of his daddy (David, the brother) comforting him when he was crying:

and I also love this one of Aaron holding Elijah with a look on his face like he was just pooped on:

And to finish off this quite pointless blog, here's one of my dad and David (the brother) laughing hysterically at the aforementioned game:

I love my family!

Inspired by my friend Stacia, I've decided that one of these days I'm going to submit a photo here, and I added a link to the site so you can check out the awesome photography that's already been submitted by other fabulous people.

Happy Birthday, Husband!

Today is my husband's 35th birthday!!! He doesn't like having his picture taken, but here are some of my most recent favorites of him. The one's on the boat are from our 3rd anniversary trip last September to the Queen Mary. The others are just random...

Spring Break

I just finished posting a new photo album on MySpace after unpacking from my wonderful spring break at home. How time flies!!

Dave and I drove back Friday night (April 11th) in separate cars after I got off work. The Jetta was done getting fixed in Stockton and the Lincoln needed to get fixed in Bakersfield. Saturday my aunt and uncle from Seattle stopped by on their vacation, and Sunday we used our season passes at Magic Mountain.

Then on Monday morning at about 8 AM an SUV stopped in the middle of the road, a 4x4 crashed into it at about 50 miles per hour, and Dave slammed on his brakes and crashed into the 4x4 at about 40-45 miles per hour. Nobody was hurt and the insurance company got us right into a rental car after towing the Jetta to the body shop.

Thursday morning the insurance company officially declared our beautiful 1999 VW Jetta TDI a "total loss" (yes, I cried :) and by Thursday afternoon we had purchased a brand new 2007 VW Jetta GLI Fahrenheit!! Here are some photos, but you REALLY can't experience this car until you go for a ride:

Friday morning (April 18th) we used our season passes at Magic Mountain again, and then time somehow fast-forwarded and I'm already back at school...

My 6th (and LAST) semester in Stockton starts tomorrow morning. I take my last final August 1st and I move back to Bakersfield right after that! Graduation is set for May 2009. I say, "Bring it on!"

I just realized there is a button that says "add image"...wow! I thought all you picture people were computer geniuses, but maybe all it takes is the push of a button.

Let me try this...

These are my bowling shoes. I have officially used them 4 times now and they have not helped my bowling at all, but man am I stylish!!

This is my nephew, Elijah, who came to visit me right before Easter and really liked playing my guitar.

This is Elijah taking a nap at my apartment in Stockton.

OK, I'm gonna post this random hodge podge of nothing and see if it worked...and if it did, it's going to be picture-palooza from now on!!

Oh, wait...a VIDEO BUTTON, TOO?!?!

Here's "suitcase surprise" (this is taking WAY longer to upload than I originally anticipated) >:o|

You won't believe this...

A "bad guy" got busted in Bakersfield, today. What for, I don't know. The detectives/police found a bunch of nice stuff at the home of the person that got busted. The police ran the serial number on the PS3 they found to see who it belonged to...

and it was us!!!

WE GOT OUR NEW TV AND PS3 BACK!!!

Dave went down to the police station today and picked them up. I'm still in shock...I don't think I'll REALLY believe it until I go home this weekend for Easter and see them with my own eyes. Still no luck with Dave's ring and his laptop, but that's TOTALLY okay, because both those were paid off and not worth as much money (although the ring did have TONS of sentimental value, of course). We have been making payments each month on the TV and PS3 (hooray for Best Buy's no interest deals!!), and it was pretty sad having to pay for something we no longer owned.

When I bought Dave the PS3 for Christmas, I got to pick 5 Blu-ray DVDs as a rebate. I just got the DVDs a few weeks ago and it sucked being reminded that our stuff was stolen, but now we can watch them!!! This is so, so, so, so cool. You have NO IDEA...or do you?
