I could really use...

a large windfall of cash to hold me over until I'm done being a student.

It's exciting to realize that money will not even be an issue as soon as I start getting paid for all the work I'm currently doing as a student. Not only am I not getting paid, but I'm actually PAYing tuition to work.

At the same time, it's disheartening to wonder where money will magically appear from so I can eat tomorrow, or get gas, or pay a bill.

I suppose I shouldn't complain since at least I know that my future will be secure even though it hurts right now. I'm sure there are plenty of people dealing with this economy having absolutely no idea when things will pick up for them financially.

So I'm not complaining...just hoping for some cash to appear in my bank account to hold me over...graduation is in MAY!!!

Woo-hoo...I'm on a roll!

Two blog posts in such a short span of time...who would've guessed?? :)

I decided to apply for the residency. I figure that way I won't kick myself in the future for not taking the opportunity when it presented itself. If I don't get it, that's still okay since I can use my original plan as a backup. It's in God's hands now, which is a MUCH safer place than it was when it was in my hands...hahaha

Here's a recap of our awesome UClimb weekend:
Home away from home. In our 2-man tent on Friday night.

Climbing DAY ONE. Killing time while the weather clears, we learned to coil rope, to belay each other, and to tie some fantabulous knots.

Freezing cold, but grinning and bearing it!

I picked an easy route for my first climb EVER:

Checkin' in...

I just realized almost a whole month has gone by and I haven't blogged at all...too busy and not quite ready to bare my soul to the internet :)

Mostly on my mind is maybe applying for a residency. I've been toying with the idea since I started my rotations, getting all kinds of advice from all kinds of different sources. And just recently I was REALLY encouraged to apply again, which is nice, because that means people think I'm good at what I do. But I thought I'd come up with a pretty dang good plan that didn't include a residency, and this might change all that. Dave and I will have to talk and pray more before I can decide.

Gordon is bigger...he weighed 18 pounds when Dave brought him home 3 weeks ago...and he weighs 27 pounds now...TWENTY SEVEN POUNDS! He's the sweetest, most adorable, most awesome puppy in the world and I love him (and worry about him when I'm gone) like he's a human child. Except he's even better than a human child because I can just put him in the back yard to play for a few hours when I want to go watch a movie or have to go to work...it's wonderful!

Dave and I are going rock climbing in Joshua Tree this weekend, which I think will be tons of fun. It's through UClimb which is an organization that promotes getting people outdoors, etc. We have all the gear, now we just have to see if we have any hidden rock climbing skills :) It will be a 3-day/2-night camping and climbing adventure!

Gordon is politely requesting that I pay him some attention, so off I go! I hope all is well with whomever checks in on me enough to actually notice when I've posted something new :)
