Dave and I drove back Friday night (April 11th) in separate cars after I got off work. The Jetta was done getting fixed in Stockton and the Lincoln needed to get fixed in Bakersfield. Saturday my aunt and uncle from Seattle stopped by on their vacation, and Sunday we used our season passes at Magic Mountain.
Then on Monday morning at about 8 AM an SUV stopped in the middle of the road, a 4x4 crashed into it at about 50 miles per hour, and Dave slammed on his brakes and crashed into the 4x4 at about 40-45 miles per hour. Nobody was hurt and the insurance company got us right into a rental car after towing the Jetta to the body shop.
Thursday morning the insurance company officially declared our beautiful 1999 VW Jetta TDI a "total loss" (yes, I cried :) and by Thursday afternoon we had purchased a brand new 2007 VW Jetta GLI Fahrenheit!! Here are some photos, but you REALLY can't experience this car until you go for a ride:
Friday morning (April 18th) we used our season passes at Magic Mountain again, and then time somehow fast-forwarded and I'm already back at school...
My 6th (and LAST) semester in Stockton starts tomorrow morning. I take my last final August 1st and I move back to Bakersfield right after that! Graduation is set for May 2009. I say, "Bring it on!"
